The OpenRegistry software has 4 system environments, as this is common practice amongst all reputable registries such as .eu
1) Research and Development
This system is secured and by default not accessible by registrars, but can be made available for development of tailor made modules. Code can also be shared with registrars to ensure a seamless integration with their management platform
2) Tryout System
The aim of our Tryout System is to provide all facets of our Registration System as part of a test set-up. All registrars have 2 tryout accounts. As an extra security measure, our EPP-server will only accept EPP requests originating from a known IP-address.
3) Staging System
The aim of our Staging System is to provide all facets of the next release of our Registration System. The way the staging system works is very similar to our tryout system, the only differences are the account names/passwords and the fact that you can test new features and backward compatibility.
